Read and be shocked

Hi there. My name is Dave G. Finch, and I write stuff. Almost ten years after my last publication, I’m fulfilling my dream of publishing a solo book. This book is mine and mine alone, with my quirks, my craziness, my SHIT. I’ve always said, “When I grow up, I want to be a writer.” I’ve been writing for 20 years, and I’ve finally decided to take the plunge: I’m going to grow up. I’m excited that this is becoming a reality, after being the typical guy who says, “My passion is writing,” and then gets asked, “Do you have anything I can read?”, “Do you have a website?”, “Where can I buy your books?” And I’ve always answered, annoyed, “I want to publish something soon.” Well, 20 years later, the day has arrived. “Soon” is a construct. Sometimes it means one thing, and other times, “two decades.” No more “telling but not showing.” No more fear of criticism. No more impostor syndrome. I’m getting older, and that can only mean one thing… Am I a writer yet? A writer needs readers. That’s what you, potentially, are. You don’t need me (you think), but I need you.
