Who am I?

I’m Dave G. Finch. I’m a fiction author who writes in the horror, science fiction, dirty realism, irreverent humour, graphic novel and erotica genres. Political correctness and commercial writing are not my style. I like to be shocked when I read. It’s just what I want to achieve in my readers; to read by shock…

I’m fed up with writing biographies of myself. It’s an exercise in vanity that bores me. I have them in the first person (as above), in the third person, like a Roman emperor (Dave G. Finch presents himself with Mis Mierdas as a sample of his talent and literary versatility…), and in the second, like a madman talking to the mirror (You’re a writer, you rule, you write like a motherfucker, everyone should read you…). The fact is that it depresses me to have to sell myself as if I were just another product of capitalism (which, sadly, I am), with half-truths, slogans, lies and other commercial marketing tricks. But I live in the here and now, the neoliberal paradise (with permission from Mr. Donald -fake protectionist-Trump). One has to sell himself as if you were a motorcycle, a brand of toothpaste or a diaper for urine leaks. Well, without further ado, here goes my self-promotion:

David Guy Finch is an author and educator of British-Filipino origin, raised in Spain, where he trained as a writer and editor. Rawness, incisive dialogues and social criticism, addressing issues such as inequality, poverty and racism, characterises his writing. He has published two graphic novels of scientific dissemination and ecology. His published titles include Expedition Malaspina, a journey of two hundred years (2011) and Oso de Troya (2015), the latter also translated into English as Trojan Bear (2016). With a vast collection of short stories and other works… well, you get the idea. Buy my books!

What do I do?

Mostly, writing. Although, I also do other things that aren’t relevant here (I’ma pony with more than one trick, hopefully). What is relevant are my projects (short stories, novels, comics, and more):
